Fall Wedding at The Lilac Inn

October is a very popular month for a Vermont wedding…and with good reason!  This season of stunning foliage did not disappoint leaf peepers or happy couples and provided some amazing backdrops and scenery for photos.  If I had to pick one season for a quintessential Vermont wedding it would have to be fall.

Kellie and Joe were wed at The Lilac Inn in Brandon, VT and their color palette of purples, oranges and whites is certainly a step slightly out of the traditional autumnal palette.  When I first met this couple they had slected their colors, they knew the overall style for the flowers should be ruled by texture and the most important element for them was to incorporate bittersweet which grows abundantly in their home state of Rhode Island!

These bouquets are made up of mango callas, dahlias, gladiolus, spray roses, freesia, scabiosa (both flowers & pods), hypericum berries, rosemary, seeded eucalyptus & crocosmia.

When I saw Kellie at The Inn I added her lace bookmark and a broach as a finishing touch.

love their wedding logo and the book-theme at the reception.  Tables were named for authors and table cards sat atop books representing a few popular titles from each writer.

Their ceremony in the garden was complete with petals at the altar and chair flower details.

Their “novel approach” to a place card table was this super sweet card catalog!

Congratulations to Kellie & Joe!  You had perfect fall weather for your big day and with so many great DIY details your day was so personalized and special.  I look forward to seeing professional pictures of your smiling faces from Kathleen Landwehrle!
